Here is the core stand of my Gold Mind Meditation Project. With conscious breath we can access in sitting meditation, Our BEING IS NOT BROKEN, we are whole and complete, right now!
In this life I have gotten a TBI (43 years ago). MY CONTRIBUTION is to now teach Awakening Mindfulness Meditation to fellow survivors of brain injury (and aging), so they can Awaken, discarding unuseful beliefs and programming  (spare baggage) from the past. Living fully and happily in this present moment -ALIVE NOW!

New Era!

First, sweep this body, relax it ALL,
Then, quit this Mind, return to breathing.

Next open heart , see what will be.

Envision and embody that intentionally.

Heal, then move on in love.

This will be a six class series requiring daily commitment of at least five minutes practicing meditation or don't apply. Meditation is a growing skill that can be learning , like brushing your teeth or reading.
Meditation results in clearer focus, balanced emotions, and grows new brain cells over time. I am offering a class that will kickstart your mindfulness practice.

Cost for the entire term of six+ weeks is twenty dollars.
You can register by paying at the first class, no one will be turned away for lack of funds and you can talk with me confidentially about scholarship.

First class at BIC-NW (Room 220) is Sept. 26 at 2:00 - 3:30. Optionally you can arrive as early as 12:30 for Coffee/Tea chat before class. The six classes will be every Tuesday till Oct. 31, 2:00 - 3:30.

Happy to see you there!

I -Dentity

A human being is a part of the whole called by us "universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

We are becoming aware that there is no time to waste and that this IS our one precious life which is worth living like our life depends on it now.
It does.

We can initiate conversations fulfilling our core goals and commitments. This is important - and it questions if our live's actions fulfill or wander away from what we value? Are we living on purpose? Please note, a meditation practice is only partially 'magic', you must intentionally work hard and focus on the actual practice regularly. Short of that effort it will be like any other lame or facetious effort! I mean it!

I got a serious traumatic brain injury (TBI) over two decades ago. Many millions worldwide share this condition. I've found peace and equanimity (and much else) through my mindfulness and meditation practice. In 2010 I realized that I've got something worth devoting my life to for the TBI community - teaching mindfulness to others suffering  similarly.
I call it "Gold Mind Meditation Project", started in 2010. The project is to bring present for sufferers of TBI the benefits of MINDFULNESS.
One form this takes is classes I teach at Legacy Good Sam. Hospital in Portland, OR via, a  local TBI support group

I look forward and welcome any comments on how y'all think I could expand this to reach every member of the TBI (and other traumas) COMMUNITY. It grows by millions every year.
